President’s Message

Good Day Members,

Our last meeting was an afternoon of music and song.  I am sure those members who attended the Community Band and Chorus Holiday Concert at Price Auditorium enjoyed the day. As noted, the bus was there to pick us up and deliver us back to our cars.  Then a few of us met at Uncle Albert’s for fellowship.  It was, for me, an afternoon that started the holiday season spirit.  Thanks to Laura and Roberta for arranging this afternoon.

Our next meeting will be held on January 9, 2010, a Saturday morning, at 10 a.m. at Ross Library and will be a health and well-being meeting.  Jerry Cierpilowski will teach us some Tai Chi moves that will help us stretch and move our bodies, hold a position, and feel so much better.  Lunch will follow for those who wish to participate.  Our hostess will be Lois Day.

I would like to add my holiday wishes to all members as we go into the Christmas, Hanukah and New Year seasons.

Till we meet in January,

                                                                                                                                          President Diane

PA AAUW NEWS

BRANCH RECOGNITION PROGRAM 2010

The new AAUW PENNSYLVANIA BRANCH RECOGNITION PROGRAM is a spin-off of the former PA STARS AWARD. Comments from branches across the state on how to improve the program have been thoughtfully considered. The major changes are that the form is less complicated, judging will not be competitive, and there will be no monetary awards. Our goal is to hear from every branch, recognize all efforts that support our mission, and share ideas for projects among branches. We believe that sharing is how we continue to grow.
